We do not post spaces that are also being shown by brokers, professional property managers, or third-parties in New York City. Listings with broker fees are also ineligible for Listings Project. We want to be 100% certain that we are offering transparent, direct, no broker fee listings directly from owner to tenant. This helps keep the cost of renting spaces lower than it otherwise would be and protects our community from some of the more predatory elements in the real estate industry. This also ensures that the listers offering the space are more intimately involved with the community. To learn more, read our resource article “Who’s Allowed and Who’s Not Allowed to Post on Listings Project.”
Additionally, we do not post listings that do not uphold our community guidelines, including Equity and Inclusion and Terms of Use. If a listing is not in compliance with our guidelines, we will either remove it or ask the lister to change it. If necessary, Listings Project may block the lister from our community altogether.
